Motor starting is a common industrial task. Selection tables help users choose coordinated direct-on-line, reversing and star-delta starter combinations. Correct short circuit protection and suitable switching devices support straightforward, reliable starting. Communication enabled motor starters are also available, including compact enclosed direct-on-line solutions such as DRAS.
Motor protection circuit breakers
Manual motor starters provide electromechanical protection and manual motor switching. They protect against short circuits, overload and phase failure without fuses. Coordinated combinations with contactors and other starter components support compact, reliable motor starting arrangements.
Circuit breakers for transformer protection
ABB MS132-T manual starters protect transformer primary circuits against overload and short circuits without fuses. They are designed to accommodate transformer inrush currents while providing manual switching and winding protection.
With a width of 45 mm and ratings up to 25 A, MS132-T provides clear short circuit indication. Integrated isolation, temperature compensation and a lockable rotary handle support convenient operation.
Accessories include auxiliary and signal contacts, undervoltage releases, shunt trips and power feed blocks. Accessories shared with MS116, MS132 and MS165 support coordinated installation, including suitable single phase configurations.
